One World Program

Communications is our business and we believe that communications makes the world a smaller place.  As a result, we have chosen to start our ONE WORLD program to assist those less fortunate than us living in the areas where we use resources, have operations and live.

Vocati One WorldThis program is intended to reach across borders and assist selected countries in social progress.  We have just met with our board and have established our areas of focus for 2010.  If you are interested in assisting with a project, please send an email to the project management team identified in the project you are most interested in.  For general inquiries, please send an email to oneworld@voaticommunications.com

Initiative 1: Republic of Haiti – Food and Clothing

Currently, our Haiti initiative is aimed at assisting providing food and clothing to the people of Haiti who need it most. We chose Haiti because we are building a series of switches in Porte Au Prince and, after traveling there and partnering with a local telecommunications provider, saw the need of people in the city with the urgent need for food and clothing.  In addition, a Haiti native we met in the telecommunications industry will be assisting us with our drive on the ground.  We are grateful to him and his organizatiVocati One Worldon for his willingness to assist us in this capacity.  You can read more about our initiatives in Haiti by going to our Haiti Initiative page or sending an email to haiti@vocaticommunications.com.

Initiative 2: Colombia and English as a Second Language

In the Republic of Colombia, we are intent on supplying underprivileged students with books and even free English as a Second Language (ESL) classes.  We operate our Latin and South American operations out of Bogota and have a strong relationship with many organizations in Colombia.  Andres Acero, the Chief Operating Officer and Director of Latin American Development for Vocati Communications and Founder of SCD Communications lives in Bogota and teaches English to people looking to expand their horizons beyond the neighborhood or excel in their careers.  We thank Andres for taking on this responsibility and for being so passionate about the people’s lives he touches.  You can read more about our focus on Colombia or send an email to colombia@vocaticommunications.com

Initiative 3: Durable and Non-Durable Medical Equipment to Sub Saharan Africa

After doing work in Eastern Africa several years ago, we have decided to expand upon what we did and include all of Sub Saharan Africa.  We intend on pursuing this initiative starting in May of 2010 for product delivery in October of 2010.  We are currently looking at several specific locations in Mali, the Ivory Coast, Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania.

If you know of any orphanages, struggling medical centers or hospitals or other facilities that could benefit from durable medical equipment, please let us know and we will add them to the recipient list.  You can send us an email at africamedical@vocaticommunications.com.  More information will be made available by March of 2010.

We at Vocati Communications believe that our corporate responsibility expands beyond borders and we welcome your assistance in our endeavor with your donations and contributions.

If you would like to donate please see visit your area of interest above, or if you wish to donate non-perishable food and or clothing please contact us at oneworld@vocaticommunications.com.

Initiative 4: Continued Involvement in JoeOnTheMove.com

JoeOnTheMove was founded in September 2008 by two active duty U.S. soldiers, Patrick Ayres and Larry JoeOnTheMove copyThorpe. Larry and Patrick met while stationed in South Korea together and quickly came together to fix a common problem found by individuals that server in the military, COMMUNICATION.

Anyone who has ever served in the military can tell you that communication with loved ones and friends can be very difficult depending on where you are deployed or stationed. Larry Thorpe and Patrick Ayres, a pair of active duty U.S. Army soldiers, learned this first hand while stationed together in South Korea. They found it very difficult and expensive to call home from South Korea so they sort out to resolve this issue by founding JoeOnTheMove.com in September 2008.

Since it was founded, JoeOnTheMove has had several major accomplishments, including giving away 1 million minutes in free phone calls to U.S. military on July 4th, 2009 and has a FaceBook cause that has grown to over 1 million strong in the last few months. JoeOnTheMove is forever growing and has been a success because of the JoeOnTheMove team.
