Haiti Services Could Take Months to Fully Restore

Haiti Services Could Take Months to Fully Restore

We currently are processing about 90% of calls destined to cell phones as the cell phone companies in Haiti have done an excellent job in getting power and connectivity back to the cell phone towers.  When attempting to call Haiti, it is best to use a person’s cellular phone rather than their land line, if possible.

Land lines are still highly affected by the earthquake.  Currently, only about 60% of calls to Land Lines are processing in and around the capital of Haiti.  The rest of the country’s Land Lines are performing better at around 70%.

At this time, we will suspend our regular update of communications to Haiti.  Please feel free to contact us for any additional information.

Bill McCarthy, CEO of Vocati Communications Conversation

Bill McCarthy, the CEO and founder of Vocati Communications, spent over twenty years in the Telecommunications and Information Technology Industry working as a consultant, expert witness and engineer.  He holds seven United States Patents in Telecommunications and related technologies and has been involved in several start-up organizations including Internet Service Providers, online E-Commerce companies and large Consulting Organizations.
William has worked for and consulted for many Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Cisco Systems, Hard Rock Cafes, Spirit Airlines, Hilton Hotels, Tyco International, Sun Microsystems, IBM, Hong Kong Telecom, New Zealand Telecom, MCI, Societe General and Singapore Telecom.
(For a moment here, I thought might be talking with Bill Gates, but let me tell you, Bill McCarthy is quite a guy in business and nonprofit efforts! Read on and listen to the podcast.)
We discuss on this podcast the history of Vocati Communications after Bill left Microsoft, the company’s focus on international communications, and its diverse clients both carrier and small to large businesses, such as Saint Gobain De Colombia S.A., a successful global glass manufacturer.
Bill shares the reasons why Vocati Communications and other IP communications companies use DIDX such as one location saves time, global DIDs, good pricing, and choice of providers of DID. DIDX also offers complimentary marketing services such as this podcast channel and Techistan.
Contact Vocati Communications at http://www.vocaticommunications.com where it is clear that we all have much more in common around the globe than not. Check out the impressive background at http://www.vocaticommunications.com/about/our-ceo/ and their participation in the One World Program at http://www.vocaticommunications.com/about/one-world-program/.
I’m impressed! I think you will be, too.
Bill’s Notes:
The person doing the interview was very generous and very kind.  We are a huge fan of DIDX and what they do.  Anyone visiting this page can purchase DiDs from any of the countries mentioned (and many more) from us or directly from DiDx (but what fun would that be?).
We are going to do a Spanish Version of this interview and Andres Acero, the other founder and Chief Operations Officer Worldwide will share his thoughts with the listeners of this podcast.  This is scheduled for December so stay tuned!
